HDFC Regalia Gold card gives reward points on all eligible spend, let’s understand it:-

  • RP20 per ₹150 spent (~13.33%) on flights, hotels via HDFC’s SmartBuy. (RP = Reward Points)
  • RP4 per ₹150 spent (~2.67%) on daily spends like grocery, apparel, bills, insurance, and utilities.
  • RP5 per ₹150 spent (~3.33%) on other spending through SmartBuy
  • RP3 per ₹150 spent (~2%) on Swiggy Instamart

Apart from the above reward points, there are milestone-based reward points for flight bookings, such as RP2,500 each on spending of ₹5 Lakh and ₹7.5 lakh. And there is no upper limit mentioned for reward points, so it is a big positive for this card.

With 13.33% discounts on flights and hotels, this card is the best option for regular travellers. Along with the above discounts, this card offers 18 Airport lounge access per year (12 Domestic and 6 International) without any spend condition.

This card also gives a ₹2,500 voucher as a welcome bonus, including 6 month swiggy One & a 1-year MMT Black Gold subscription.

Now, what’s important is how to redeem these points to get actual benefits out of them. This is quite easy; you can redeem your reward points on HDFC’s SmartBuy portal or NetBanking for maximum value, yet this varies from brand to brand, like 1 RP = ₹0.65 on premium brands like Apple, Samsung, Bose, etc. For flights & Hotels, it is around 1RP = ₹0.50 via partners (EaseMyTrip, Yatra, Cleartrip, Goibibo, etc.). There are other options also, but those give very little value in comparison to above mentionded.

So, in reality, 13.33% is reward points, but when you redeem these for travel purposes with a 2:1 conversion, you’ll get 6.67% discounts effectively and 8.67% if you redeem for premium brands mentioned above.

There is 1% Fuel surcharge waiver on ₹400-₹5,000 transactions at all fuel stations with a maximum limit of ₹500-₹1,000 per statement cycle.
